About us:

We strive to build a community centered on Jesus Christ, to reach people with His Gospel, and to provide practical assistance with the demands of 21st century life by resurrecting the 1st century Christian Church (known then simply as “The Way”).  Paying close attention to the practices of The Way as they are recorded in Acts chapters 2 and 4, we practice a faith in Jesus Christ that expresses itself most often in keeping to the teachings of the Holy Scripture and to fellowship with one another, and the habit of sharing all things in common, in as much as we can, for the purpose of tending to every need that is brought to our attention.   It is our hope that in doing these things that we, as a body of believers, will emerge in Biblical faithfulness and missional fruitfulness.  Above all, we practice forgiveness, loving God and loving others, and doing those things which His holy Word declares will bring about a resurrection in broken lives and usher in His kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven.

FAQ:

Where do you meet for worship gatherings?
345 Main St., Latrobe, PA 15650, Sunday mornings from 10:30am. Enter through the green door on the front of the building which faces Main St.

What can I expect on a Sunday morning at The Way?
laughter, prayer, the teaching of God’s Word, a celebration of worship in song, and a whole bunch of friendly people

Should I dress up to worship with The Way?
No…come dressed comfortably.  And, if it helps you to know, our Pastor will be wearing jeans and a “five o’clock shadow”, so please just come as you are.

Is The Way affiliated with a denomination?
No, we are not formally affiliated with any denomination.  The church that we live to be is a community of faith which predates concepts such as Catholicism, Protestantism, or Denominationalism.  We are truly more focused on raising high the banner of Jesus Christ in the manner that the church of the book of Acts did than to give ourselves titles or terms that are secondary to that objective.

What are the core beliefs of The Way?
We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and the New Testaments.  We regard the Bible to be the utmost and final authority on all matters.  We hold to the truths of The Apostle’s Creed, and in all things we recognize Jesus Christ to be Lord, Savior, and Friend.
